Ok, so last night I posted a thread about me trying to update my 9530s OS thru Parallels on my mac ( I don't own a PC since the blow...). I was told repeatedly that it could not be done on a mac since it would only work on a Microsoft computer. Well...that's wrong; someone else had stated that they got it working with VMware Fusion. The trick is to increase the amount of RAM allowed to be used by Parallels or VMware. I don't know if this is old news or not, I just thought it ought to be known to my fellow  users

Well, actually, of course it works! You're running WINDOWS on your Mac!

Being a Mac has nothing to do with it, after all, it's just hardware It's the OS that kills the deal, as RIM doesn't make a Mac OS/X version of it's Desktop Software and Apploader.

As long as you can run Windoze, you can add apps and upgrade the phone OS. VMware Fusion, Parallels, VirtualBox, Bootcamp; it doesn't matter. Windoze is what's needed, and the fastest Windoze computers are often Mac hardware!

Congrats on getting it to work! I use VMware myself, and it works great
