Right. I've owned quite a few BlackBerries, but only three in the time DM for Mac has been out, a Storm 9530, a Curve 8320 and now a Bold 9000.

Whenever I get a device, I proceed to update the OS if needed.

    Standard Process,

    -Connect via USB

    -Open DM for Mac

    -Enter Password (Authentication)

    -Applications

-Update (Newest Version, This also happens if I'm reloading an OS.)

-OS Files Download (If not on disk.)

    -Device Wipe, OS Load

This is where the problem comes in, After the device comes back on from the reboot, The entire process freezes. Nothing happens with the device, nor with Desktop Manager.

Open the Log Window reveals a massive problem going on in the background...

I've kind of figured this out to an extent, and this is it in plain english.

    • DM Finishes OS Load
    • DM sends Reboot Command to device
    • Device reboots, Begins loading OS
    • Device opens communication with computer
    • DM takes over communication with device
    • DM finds it as "Unsupported device"
    • DM closes the connection with the device

This process happens in a loop, it will continue happening, non-stop for an hour if you let it.

The ONLY solution I've found to this, is to disconnect the device while the update process is still in progress (while its in the loop.), go into DM and cancel the update, then reconnect the device.

Once it's reconnected, DM will freeze, but the device will finish the update, and boot into the OS, DM will then unfreeze, and request the device password (if it has one.).

This process is totally puzzling to me, and I'm worried that one of these times, I'm going to end up fecking something up (although I've done this many times before, with three different devices and I never have).

If this has been covered in another topic, feel free to point me in the right direction as I've found nothing that covers this exact problem.
