If you are on Blackberry Beta http://blackberry.com/beta, and access the portal from Mac, you should see this beta in the eligible programs

    The Good
New features look to be WiFi media sync and support for new handsets.

    The Bad
If you want to use Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 and a BlackBerry your out of luck.

    The Ugly
Back to Pocket Mac that syncs with Office for Mac & BlackBerry... without needing Sync Services.

It's horrible. If it wasn't for the new picture/video syncing I would downgrade back to 1.0. The eject button down at the bottom is always greyed out, it freezes during syncs, it uses ridiculous CPU for the little it actually does. It also makes every one of my songs say they are only "0.1" seconds long, which is obviously incorrect. I wouldn't recommend installing this unless you are a very patient person.

Is the link genuine and will it work well or should I stay with my current version? Just want move to Mac totally rather that keeping my Windows netbook purely for BB

I switched to the 2.0 beta 2 weeks ago and didn't notice any speed lowdowns during sync. The biggest change is that one can sync photos (via iPhoto) and videos (via iTunes) directly with the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. As I have many photos in my iPhoto library this is a big plus.

However there are also some negative points about this 2.0 beta release. The UI needs some refinement and other little things could be better. But overall I'm satisfied with the beta and wouldn't switch back to the 1.0 release.

Just found an issue, if you use contact categories on your BB they will not be reflected as groups in the Mac Address Book. In fact, if I assigned a category and then synced the same contact vanished in the Mac Address Book. Have created groups to reflect the BB categories but still no show.

    Mac OS X Address Book: 5.0.3 (875)
    RIM DM for Mac: 2.0.0.64
    OS X Leopard: 10.6.5

OSX / SyncServices does not presently have the ability to support categories. Some software programs (other than DesktopManager for Mac 2.0) create a separate calendar for each category -- e.g., home, work, category_one, category_two, category_three.

That's exactly why I stick with Pocket Mac. They worked out how to do it years ago yet RIM cannot, or don't want to?
