I know a guy who is selling is Mac Book Pro for $700.. he initally paid $3200 for it and it has 2.33 Ghz Core 2 Duo processors, with 2 GB RAM and 160 GB hard drive. It's in MINT condition as well! 1440 x 900 is the resolution 15.4" monitor. I am not sure if I need a laptop or not as I already have a desktop but I've always wanted a Mac or at least to try it. I guess if I don't like I could always re-sell it to someone or if I found I didn't really need a laptop.

    Do it.

    You will love it.

And even if you don't prefer OS X, just use Boot Camp and make it a Windows machine as well.

We bought our second MacBook Pro today. Best laptops we ever owned.

Not a bad deal, but he didn't pay $3200.
Probably a little over half that.

I'm wondering when the seller bought it.
But if it's less than 3-years I'd say buy it. If older then I'd search around

He bought it in 2007... He said he paid that much for it because he bought bundled stuff in there as well. I am not sure but I thought he mentioned an upgraded monitor.. Not sure of that though.

    Upgraded monitor is external.
At $700 it is still a good deal.

I'm typing this on my MacBook Pro 15.4 inch (2008 model) and can highly recommend it. I'm editing video and audio using Final Cut Studio 3 (FCP v7) on mine routinely. I've got an Express Card 34 slot and only the 17 inch new ones come with that (~$2500 new) which I use for connection to my eSATA drives. Also it has the standard size DVI port. The newer ones have a mini DVI (or something).

You will be very happy with it, especially at that price.

2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

    I got almost the same thing, but instead;

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    320GB hard drive

All for $875. Kijiji is a good site for this kind of thing.

I would say that that's a pretty good deal. And well, for me I was nervous about going mac, but I'm DEFINITELY never going back lol. It'll take you a little bit of time to find the tricks, but if you actually read a document about them then you'll impress even life-long mac users haha.

Defiantly a good deal and once you get used to it you will love it and hate having to use a windows machine... [I know I do].
    I will not go back.

Sounds like a deal, however, if you spend 400 more, you get a new one with these specs: intel Core Duo processor, 4 GB of DDR3 Ram, NVidia or ATI Graphics card, WiFi (a/b/g/n), ethearnet 10/100/1000, blue tooth and 320 on the hard drive. This machine will last you longer in addition to having the latest software from Apple. Speed will be evident as well as having the ability to run more applications at the same time while giving you the fastest internet browsing experience to date.
