Only a few days ago we saw OS 6.0.0.570 officially release for the Torch 9800 and a few other devices. A devices even saw OS 6.0.0.576 hit, but now it’s dropped for the Torch 9800. No word on the changelog, so make sure you backup and let us know any fixes you might find.

Download Torch 9800 OS 6.0.0.576 from:

    FileServe

Here's my short-version OS install guide if anyone needs a refresher...

    ELITE1's Quick OS6 UPGRADE GUIDE

    1. (Optional) Uninstall any previous OS from your PC.
    2. Download OS to PC. Use Internet Explorer to do so, not Firefox or Chrome. (For leaked versions, the browser is irrelevant though.)
    3. Following successful DL, run OS file to install OS on PC.
    4. On BB, go to BBM Options, scroll down to Backup section. Ensure Remote Backup is enabled AND also conduct a Local Backup to media card.
    5. Go through any 3rd party apps that have option to save settings to media card, and conduct Backup to media card from menu within each of these apps. (Examples: all Bellshare apps such as BerryBuzz & BerryWeather; QuickLaunch; Shao's apps such as Wallpaper Changer & SixTools; Show Me The Images; etc).
    6. Connect BB to PC. Open DM and backup device. Close DM.
    7. (Optional) Use desktop program like BBSAK or BBMCP to backup 3rd party apps.
    8. On PC, navigate to
64-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader and delete file therein called Vendor.
      32-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader and delete file therein called Vendor.
    9. (Optional/Recommended) Run BB Boss or Shrink-A-OS/BBHybrids Tool.
    10. In same AppLoader file where you deleted Vendor, double-click on Loader to initiate OS upgrade. Follow onscreen instructions.

PS I've posted this before in other threads, but there always seems to be some people that appreciate a step-by-step each time.

FWIW, fast download and install, less disruption of preexisting apps than with previous upgrades. Seems a little more responsive. . . .

This might have already been in the 570 threads, but there is a higher version of Google Talk included with this.

Coming from 546, I had GTalk 2.5.69, which is the highest available from App World.
    This OS comes with 2.5.81.

I removed the other native app clients, but I would assume that some or all of them are also this higher version.

It's also a higher version for YouTube, BrickBreaker, Word Mole, and a few others.
It's the same versions for BBMaps and App World.

It unfortunately downgrades the Email Setup Application, so this must be opened to prompt an update after the OS upgrade is completed.
    Savoie72 and Kings like this.

So far the only issue I've found is unable to dial from contacts by touch screen. Doing more battery pulls to see if this corrects it. Happy to see the issue I was having with .570 is gone, which was unable to talk or be heard or even press a second number if calling an automated system that required button pushes during the call.

    Yes it is!
Just finished loading 576. I skipped 570, so this is my first time experiencing this bug.

As you can see below, this OS was built about 4 weeks ago already!
Other recent leaks have been faster than that. Hopefully we'll see 587 or higher get leaked soon...
