Yes, updating the OS won't lock it. I updated mine to .167 without any problems.

Thanks for your reply, but i read that sometimes its better to fully wipe all the info and then installing the OS again. If i do so, is it going to lock the device again.

Wiping the device is only needed when the device is not working correctly and you do not want to transfer the problem to the newly updated device.
The vast majority of the time, you do want your data and setting transfered to the newly updated device.
Locking is a seperate procedure, once it has been unlocked, it will stay that way.
