The beauty of it is you can get most of your Android apps working on BB10 as well. There's an Android Runtime in BB10 which allows you to install .apk files directly from your BlackBerry, so most of them won't be lost if you switch over. (I do say most of them because I am not sure which ones you use)

Welcome to Crackberry, you're definitely in the right place. Seeing as this is a blackberry fan site, my first recommendation is to jump ship to BB10. The Z30 and the Q10 are superior devices. As far as apps are concerned, blackberry world has a good selection of "popular apps" such as instagram(igrann), snapchat(snap2chat), vine(whine), etc. Also, for those apps not found in BlackBerry World, android apps can be sideloaded to BB10 to suit your needs.

What will you be using the phone for? Business or pleasure?

BB10 is the greatest mobile os I've ever used, The file manager has replaced my laptop, the browser is great, the hub is an unparalleled experience and on top of all that we can run android apps!

If you haven't figured it out yet, go all Nike on it!

    Q10, Q5, Z30... Damn I love leaks too much!

To be real and not a fan boy, stay with an Android device. There are a lot of nice Android devices on the market right now that I'm sure you'll be pleased with and ease the lack of if excitement.

And if apps are your top concern, definitely don't move. Don't buy into "BlackBerry can run Android apps". It's a statement that should always have an asterisk next to it.

But the best advice I could offer is, try the BlackBerry experience and decide for yourself. You know what you want and need. Don't rely on a mobile fan site for advice.

Agreed with those who say that BlackBerry 10 is one hell of an experience. It fulfils my every need, and at a great speed too.

When I broke my laptop, I easily adjusted to just using my Z10 because of how effective and amazing BlackBerry 10 is. The file manager, the hub, the amazing keyboard, and even the ability to run Android apps to fill up the void of apps in BlackBerry World.

I find myself doing all my work and socialising only on my device, and I find myself having more fun doing it on here, than on my old laptop.

I guess it was a sign... (Not really, but I'm glad I have this phone)

I came back to BlackBerry from Android because of the native user experience, primarily the way it handles email and messaging. It has no peers in this area in my opinion. The OS just feels rock solid because everything is integrated into the core system, and is not just add-on apps (apk's). The native apps available to help enhance that core experience are fantastic and integrate like no other OS. I'm not a big app guy, and I don't game on my phone, but I have found a handful of necessary Android apps (banking apps, Starbucks, home automation apps) that work exactly as expected (and you do NOT have to sideload them, Snap is your native Android app store). The main exception is apps that tie heavily into Google services, so if you are reliant on the Google ecosystem, then you will probably find frustration.

If you're a hyper-connected app hound, and not someone who just wants the best possible enhanced communications device, then Android or iOS just might be the platform for you after all.

    Don't be afraid!

The OS is great. As others have mentioned, you can run lots of Android apps.

Spend some time in the apps subforum. Let me get you that link.

You should know better than to listen to any sales rep...

Welcome to the forums. If you need android apps, well guess: BB10.2.1 supports most apps. 10.3 will make it "supports all but Google apps".

This is something for a whole other discussion.

That pimple faced little puke probably doesn't have a BB10 device in the pocket of his khaki pants.

At my local Best Buy the only BlackBerry product on display is a Z30. The display is around the corner and down the accessories isle. A good 20 feet away from the rest of the mobile devices on display.

How many customers do you think actually get to see this product?

Welcome to BlackBerry. Go with what works for you. Sales reps are just that and will push what management tells them. I have a Z and a Q. But, I prefer to utilize my Z10 more. Want 1, Get 1.......and enjoy- regardless of whatever is said. Good Luck.

I doesn't matter what phone you choose, they all have their pros and cons. But you should never base a decision on what a sales rep at Best Buy has to say.

I am sorry but I really can't agree with you. Sorry about your laptop but my bb10 cannot ever replace my laptop, at least not yet anyways! Even the Z series that I have tried is just to small of a device to replace the screen size and windows operating system is way more flexible and the applications on my laptop can't ever be duplicated on the blackberry as I said, not yet, even with the rumoured phablet supposedly coming. If given the choice, I would be using my laptop hands down but the BlackBerry is great when my laptop isn't available but is far from a replacement!

I made the jump from an iphone to BBOS (the 9000 in particular) and I absolutely loved it. BlackBerry has always made workhorse phones, they are easy to navigate, easy to communicate, easy to get information, user friendly, and innovative. Also Canadian.. BlackBerry has been able to provide an OS (BB10) that carries all the same principles but does it in a modern innovative way. That's why I continue to use BB10,

I suggest you try it as I recently just bought and android phone as a secondary device and I can't stand how messy it is compared to Bb10.

It's currently being sold on ebay fyi..

Interesting, folks say IOS is too easy, and you say BB is not messy. Does that mean BB is too easy also? My N3 is not messy at all. I find my Z30 and Q10 simplistic since I am not sideloading anything ever. I make do with Blaq, Blackbrite ,CB app, Hotels.com, and Tripit bookmark.

I've used extensively iPhones, WP, Android (Note3), BB7 and BB10, so I can safely say I'm not a fanboy.
And I do stress that different people have different needs and expectations. For me, BB7 was #1 for no nonsense emailing, and BB10 is shaping up to be a good replacement for BB7 (in terms of work/business). Hopefully 10.3 will elevate BB10.
For me personally, my Android experience was the absolute worst. I couldn't even feel confident if my emails have been sent to my customers.
Again, different ppl, different needs. Respect.

Look, you should decide for yourself, if you tried it and you like it, than definitely buy it, the OS came a long way since it was released and a lot of things that some people complained are fixed, the perception of the company is still not the best, but I'd say most people who don't like it haven't used BlackBerry device with 10.2.

When I bought Z10 back in the day my brother thought I was crazy, he didn't know what the device could actually do, after a week he completed changed hes opinion and now he really likes the feel of the OS. My advice to you is to make an informed decision, choose the device that you like the most and don't listen to those, that don't know much about BlackBerry 10 devices.

I have listened to sales reps talk me into iPhones and android devices and wound up with years of frustration.
So I am finally back with BB and guess what? I love it. It's faster, smoother than iPhone and android by far, the camera is great, BBM and Blackberry Hub are simply awesome and the battery life puts the others to shame.
My Q10 is a little work horse that keeps going strong when the others fall twitching on the side of the road.
I should NEVER have listened to the sales reps.
Try one, most carriers give you a 2 week grace period.
    Decide for yourself.
