    Hi all

I was talking to my buddy yesterday about OS for phones and I asked him what happens when they release a new OS. Does it go straight to the new devices and I would have to install a firmware update?

his response was if they come out with new OSes they are new phones directly and unless someone hacks it, I could not get it for my phone (8330)

I wanna know if this is true or does my friend not know what he's talking about lol

    Thanks!

Not true. OS updates are available through the BlackBerry web site. They're listed by model and carrier.

They will not update wirelessly. They need to be d/l to the computer then pushed through to the device via application loader.
