New user to an AT&T Curve 8310. Sometimes I forget to close the browser or 3rd party app. like google maps and these apps run my battery down. Is there any way to see a list of which applications are open/running?

Jenay is correct, just hold down the ALT button or you will be directed to the open application that the cursor is on.
