Let me first say I absolutely love the bb curve for att and crackberry wap forums. I wish more forums would create this wap version. Anyways my question, is there anyway to set the key lock application to a button like holding sym for 2 seconds?

Is there already a shortcut for keylock that I am not aware of?

    Thanks guys
    Tom

You can assign one of your convenience keys to "keyboard lock" if you want.

Options=> Screen/Keyboard => scroll down to the appropriate key and change from there.

Another question is what does the button at the top of the curve do. For the att version.

If you have dialing from your home screen turned off you can just hit the letter K to turn on keyboard lock

It's the mute button. If the phone is ringing when you are someplace you don't want it to ring, push that button and it will stop. Also, if you hold it for 2 seconds it will put the phone into standby. Standby is a little different than keyboard lock.

What version is your handheld software? only 4.3 and greater will allow you to watch youtube videos.

The only real reason you may want to unlock your berry is if you want to use it with another carrier. For example, if you were coming to Canada and you wanted to pick up a SIM card from Rogers and use it while you were here your phone would need to be unlocked for a Rogers SIM card to work

For what it's worth, I use blueapple.mobi on my 8830 when cruising youtube. It works for me.
