While logged in, scroll to the bottom of a thread and, under "Posting Rules" make sure that "Smiles" are turned "On" I don't know what the default is, it may be "off." Once you change it, it remains sticky to your profile preferences.

Really easy to do with the CrackBerry launcher free in the app store. Allows navigation and ready access with a click or two. CrackBerry Launcher - Communication & Internet BlackBerry Apps - Crackberry BlackBerry Apps Store That is my far and away favored way to surf the forums.
