I have never owned a BB in my life.
My sister has used both the 8320 and bought the 8900 last week.

I'm starting college in a couple of weeks and wanted a more professional appeal than my G1 could provide.

I was able to get the 8900 brand new from T-Mobile for $54.43 w/free shipping.
The phone is in Texas right now, and won't be in my hands until Tuesday.

Since I'm coming from a G1, all my contacts are linked to my GMail.
I read of users having issues with the gmail sync app, so I was wondering if it was safer to import my gmail contacts onto Outlook and then sync them to my BB?

Also, which skins would you recommend and which ones should I stay away from?

    Thank you so much !!

Congrats on the 8900! IDK about everyone else, but I've personally never had trouble with Google Sync.

Nice that's the latest blackberry that I'm using and I love it. Take a look at the smart cases from case logic, they're more expensive but are great quality.
