I have been with Sprint for 5 years now using a Sanyo 8100 flip-phone and am finally ready to upgrade. I have been going back and forth for the last 3 weeks trying to decide between the M520, Instinct, Pearl 8130, MOTO Q, HTC Touch and the Curve.
There are several people at work that have a variety of smart phones on various networks that have given me a lot of advice. I have been told to go with a Windows Mobile device, but the user reviews are horrible, and it appears the Blackberry's sync up to a PC just as well. The touch screen feature phones are nice, but I worry about the "touch" portion going bad after repeated use.
I have been reading some of the Q&A items here, and after seeing the Curve in person at the local Sprint Store, I have decided to pick mine up at the end of the week.
I just got a promotion at work that will have me traveling more often and if nothing else, the Curve will help pass the time at the airport. Our company does not support syncing work email with a cell unless they supply the phone. But that's not a problem since they supply me with a laptop and VPN access to email when I'm on the road. I'll use it primarily to keep up with my home email.
My only complaint about Sprint is they offer the exact same price to a new subscriber as they do as an "upgrade" for current customers. But I guess that may be the same with most cell providers. It just doesn't feel like they are really trying to retain customers. I guess that was a little off subject, sorry.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll be here with plenty of questions later.
Well, I got my BB Curve last week and I love this thing. So far I have been able to figure everything out I have needed by either trial-and-error, or searching the forums here (you guys ROCK!!)
It came with a 1 GB Micro SD Card and I managed to fill that up the first day with music. I decided to increase the capacity to the max so I have upgraded the OS to 4.5 and found an 8GB card on eBay for $25 with a card reader.
I think everyone at work is getting tired of me gushing about my new phone, but this thing is awesome.
