I was over in the UK and had a vanilla GSM phone to call home once in awhile, and 1 month in to a 2 month stint decided I wanted a smartphone to better keep in touch with home (emails, texts, Gtalk from the train) - I picked up a Blackberry Curve 3G on the O2 network (pay as you go) and really loved it - so back in the US, I dropped my Android phone for a Blackberry Bold 9900 a few days ago and am impressed about how well it works - much more polished and less mucking about to get basic tasks done.
