go to the usual google home page on your 8800 with a "/gmm" after the ".com"
(i am a newbie so i can't put a url in my post)

it is the address for the BB browser for the direct install to the phone.
that address seems to pick up on your blackberry model and directs you to
the correct link for the google map download for your model.

works great with the GPS function......
shows your current location on google maps in about 30 seconds.

i had used both BB maps and google maps on my 8700 and much preferred
google maps to the BB maps program. so when i went to the 8800, i just stuck
with google maps.

I use it on my Pearl. Love to zoom in on my house. I have been using Google Maps for a long time on my pc.
