I am a rising junior who wants to switch from iphone 3g to BB! I recently upgraded from iphone original to iphone 3g, and cracked the screen... GAHH! A few friends have made the switch and are happy with BB. Im pretty frustrated with my iphones, so I think im ready to give bb a try. I'm going to use the money from selling my iphones to buy a bb, so money is a bit tight.

The phone will mostly be used for texting, email, multiple alarms for the week, last minute essay editing, hour or 2 of music, 1 or 2 TV episode watching, picture taking and wifi web browsing(everywhere on campus). Battery life is important for me

honestly my biggest concern is the keyboard. I like the clicky feel of the 8900 buttons. I messed around witha dummy bold and didnt feel like the keys were as snappy...

any advice would be much much appreciated!

looking forward to join all the berry heads !!

I think the 8900 would be perfect for you. It has more memory for apps. I have one on T-Mobile and it's great. Tmo has Fav Fives, UMA. It just doesn't have the 3G that AT&T has. Great device!

I've used blackberry phones for years and I think you'd like both, my choice was the 8900 and I love it.

I would also vote for the 8900. I've heard that there is no way to disable the 3G radio on the Bold which means shorter battery life. Couple that with less memory and it makes for a frustrating experience.

I just picked up a 8900 curve, and my gf just picked up a 9000 bold. We are both BB newbies. So far I love the phone.
