hmm...interesting. does that auto sig every email, even if you have multiple email accounts? or is there an option to have the autosig for just one/some of the email accounts. (i have done the autotext for an email sig when i want to insert one, but i just wanted to know if the autosig function could do this too)
thanks for the help but when I go to email and options there is no email settings. if i go back to my main page and then go to email settings it logs me into my blackberry account and the area for signatures is not a changeable area?
is there maybe a book that you recommend for tips and tricks for my model, it is an 8700? I thought it was crazy when my device did not come with a manual, I only got a quick start guide.
Go to messages / Options / Email Settings - you don't have that? Maybe that only shows for BES users...
Alternatively, log into your BIS account (service providers account, where you setup your email account for your BlackBerry), and you should see an option there to setup a signature. If the area is NOT changeable, try removing the account, and re-adding it. But, I would find it strange the you can't change that! Normally, you can change your name and other things. The only thing you can't change is the email address, without re-adding it...
i am a bis user, and i can edit that from my cingular account, each email account i have setup for my bb can have a different signature. its nice. can also set up filters too.
I am having a similar problem with my 8800. I go into options, and I have only general options, and email reconcilliation, there is no email options, and I can't see anywhere else to put my signature.
ndance, please tell me you're logged into your account via the carriers website? Also, if you're not and you're a BES user, then you should be able to make the change from the device...
I have my yahoo mail ( and company e-mail hosted by yahoo ) on my blackberry - I've never gone online and logged into my account at my carrier - Rogers (Canada) - Not using a BES server.
Ah! So that means you added your Yahoo account FROM your device, no?
Well, in order to change your signature, you have to log into your carriers website, and edit your account there, in it there is a section, 'signatures'...
It's automatically added by default, when the email account is created/added to BIS.
Hi
Am brand new to this!
Have a company Pearl 8100. I think I will probably need to talk to the Company Admin guy.... but adding a signature doesn't seem to be an option. If I go to Email Settings All I get is Confirm Delivery Confirm Read Send Read Receipts No mention of signatures.
You need to make sure DESKTOP is selected in that area. If you have other pop3 accounts on your BlackBerry, and those are selected you will NOT see the 'use auto signature' option...
I have searched for the last hour for an answer on CB and other lowly sites for an answer to this question/comparison with no real results. I wanted to bump this for the following reason:
I have the Curve on Verizon (personal account) and have it hooked thru Exchange for work. I am able to turn off my auto sig thru options>email settings>auto sig.
My girlfriend has the Curve on AT&T that was setup by and given to her by her employer. She does NOT have the option to turn off her auto sig via the chain noted above. I also do not see detailed Exchange info on hers...as if they are not using Exchange??? she does not know if they do...
Thoughts on this? I'm having a hard time finding a thread that talks specifically about this. Her employer block it thru a contract with AT&T? Is the AT&T different from the Verizon? BB bought through a corporate account different than a personal account that was then hooked into Exchange?
