Hi all. I was wondering how I can stop my email box from automatically opening the newest message that I received when I go into it. I just want to open my inbox without opening the new message.

Wait about 5 seconds before opening your BB. By default, the BB assumes that after it alerts you to a message and you immediately pull out your BB, that the reason is so you can read the new message so it automatically opens it for you.
