Hi, I just got my very first BB Curve in the mail today. So far, so good. I am with TMobile and I know that the Text Messages are not included in the Unlimited BB plan, but does anyone know if the IMs or BBmessenger is considered part of the included data plan. I called TMob twice and got 2 different answers. Thanks. Michael

BBMessenger counts as data not text though IMs count as text messages. If you IM a lot & don't have unlimited text, try Jivetalk (BeeJive :: JiveTalk mobile messenger - instant messaging to go) - its a great chat application that supports all the big IM clients & all the messages use data NOT text messages. There's a free trial if you'd like to try it - its well worth the money if you like to instant message.

I always wondered the same thing. I am with Verizon Wireless and wondered if the Mobile IM was an extra charge, even though I have the unlimited data. Well, 1 rep at the store told me it's included, he thought, the lady he asked to help him out thought that maybe it was included, and the guy she asked was totally clueless to the question.

That's correct, Text message or IM isn't included in your Data plan.

That would be a YES on T-Mobile. Those services both use data.

Welcome! I'm also on Tmo and I have the BB plan + unlimited calling plan. The unlimited calling plan for $99 includes unlimited text messaging as well so it may be a good fit depending on your usage.
