As per the announcement this morning, WIND picked up new spectrum blocks in AB, BC & ON. This is good news for WIND users who are contemplating on moving to different providers & for users who likes to see strong signals & faster data speeds! I can't wait to see the outcome translate to existing happy users!

Any idea what this might mean for additional coverage. Have they announced what exactly this will add to there network? Good for Wind i have been a Wind customer for almost a year. Switched to them because i travel to the US alot for business and have saved a fortune in roaming
Question.... Which BB's will work on this new radio band???

As far as I know there are no current devices that operate on Band 10 LTE but with AT&T and other large carriers investing in it heavily it won't be long before there are some.
The good news is that as people migrate to the new service, the current network will be less crowded and data speeds and reliability should improve significantly so there's no need to be ditching your current device just yet.
I'm keeping my current BlackBerry Q10 and BlackBerry bold 9900 for as long as I can, I doubt the hspa+ network will be congested once the hardware is activated within 1-3 years (3 years being the longest it could take to fully test, debug and verify the new stuff). It won't happen overnight.

It is Band 10 and 8 for AWS. We actually need some 700 mhz for better voice coverage. LTE with Wind won't fix volume issues because Vote won't be used until 2020 for any network in NA. The 700 MHZ band would have meant that Wind could offer far reaching DATA services and reduce the load on AWS band. They are already full in major areas and badly need more spectrum to come on next month

We aren't going to be getting the 700 MHz spectrum, since wind's prior owners never provided the funding to bid on it. We will get what comes in april.
Quebecor is in talks with Wind to off load spectrum purchased during the last auction. 700 MHZ us available in all major markets to buy off those guys. They have no plans to expand along with Shaw. Spineless companies that are afraid to go again the big three: Shaw and Quebecor. So maybe if Wind is to IPO shares, they could finan buying more spectrum.
