OS 5.0 is unlikely to make any difference, since the GPS is not disabled by the OS.

The 8330 is not a GSM capable device, no matter what you add to it.

My 8330 GPS works with BBMaps. The GPS chip in this device is weak plus I believe VZW makes you pay to use any other GPS program on this device. Have not tried leaked OS.

You are correct that the internal GPS works with BBMaps. The GPS chip is not weak or defective, it just operates in Assisted GPS mode, which means Verizon can enable or disable it on an app-by-app basis. I have read that they have also enabled it for Bing, but I can't check that. The GPS in the Storm and Tour operate in Autonomous GPS mode and are not blocked by Verizon.

You should ask the question in the 8330 forum, but I believe the short answer is YES.

Using the Boost Mobile release of OS 5, Telnav GPS works just fine.

I'm on wap and can't see your carrier. I assume you are not a Verizon user.

No matter what you do Verizon has it set so you can not use the GPS except for BBMaps and VZNavigator.

Although it is not as accurate, telenav and most GPS apps can use cell tower triangulation to get your position and enable GPS functions.

We are talking GPS Mario, not GSM. The 8330 does have GPS, it's just somewhat limited by Verizon.
