Verizon has several phases of testing they do for each new release of software for each phone. They only release an update if the new software passes each phase of testing. This can take some time.

Be assured when they do pass the software, it *should* function very well on your phone.

Like stated verizon tests each OS extensively before an offical update is deployed, they seem somewhat slow with new releases but usually it comes without much error in the OS

I would rather they take longer and have a good build.

They're really good at taking longer, they just need to get better at that "good build" part.

The Storm seems to be an exception for Verizon.

And you all DO know you can use the Sprint release on your Verizon Tour right? And of course any of the leaks.

They claim that, but then they apparently released the POS OS .328 for the Storm without even testing it. And that was after releasing the other POS OS for the Storm (.148) when better OS's were available.

    LOL @ VZW testing!

I think just about everyting about the first storm was half baked. No OS under the sun was going to make that thing as good as it should have been. Other than that, I think VZW does a good job testing their stuff. It just takes toooooooo loooooooong.

I guess I would have to say that I would rather have it right the first time then have to keep loading updates to try to get it right.
