Ugh... So frustrating being a BlackBerry fan and having Verizon.

Now the GSM versions of the z30 are selling for $250 and the VZW model is still at $499.

When do you think the price will finally drop? Upon the release of the Classic?

I'm guessing we won't see a price drop at all. But I'm just making a guess based on how devices have been priced in the past, not any inside information.

I don't think we will not see a price drop on the z30 until Verizon finally clears out all of their Z10 inventory. I think Verizon finally sold through their first order of Z30s when the Z30 was removed from the Verizon website a couple of months back, but because of an up take in demand for the phone a fresh order was placed. At this point Verizon is going to try to make as much money as they can off the Z30.

You might look at used. I picked up a Verizon Z30 from a seller here for $220. Activated with no issue on Verizon and will still have my upgrade eligibility if a new device comes out that might replace my Z30.

Amazon has a nice selection of used z30, but I bought one that was supposed to be in pristine original packaging that wasn't.

    Good assessment.

The last price drop was last summer, before they discontinued the Z30 temporarily. When they brought it back it was $199 again. Why should they discount it when it's in demand and they haven't got much inventory? The Z10s, on the other hand, continue to be free on-contract.

    Lowest I ever saw the Z30 was $99 on-contract.

Remember that Verizon makes you pay a $40 "upgrade" fee or new line activation fee, unless you manage a corporate plan. So add that to the cost of any device you buy through Verizon. The stupid upgrade and activation fees are occasionally waived for consumers but not often.
