O2 website just says they are aiming for 98% of the population to have it by 2015, so maybe it will start coming out for the big cities later this year?

Thanks that's nice to hear, they are still really behind, they're biggest advertising schemes are on 4G phones yet they aren't rolling it out :S

To be fair the auction was only held recently.

Then they have to wait until allocations are made. The actual auction was only part 1.

Currently 4G interference with Freeview TV is being tested by some company. It seems to be going well. Less interference than expected.

Possibly it will then be rolled out in stages so some will get it earlier than others.

Pricing will be very interesting.

I've asked an O2 representative and he told me it would be during one of the summer months (June, July or August) but this only includes the big cities so minor cities and larger towns will probably have it by the end of the calender year. The best thing he told me - 4G wouldn't incure any further charges!!! <=-P

I'm pretty sure you'll need a 4G sim, no idea if you'll be able to switch if you're mid contract

O2 only bought some 800mhz spectrum from the auction. They didn't buy any of the faster 2.6ghz spectrum. Not sure why they did that.

O2 are in partnership with vodafone as far as I know so hopefully any spectrum that vodafone has bought o2 will share...
