My Z10 on ATT (10.2.1.1295) shows various indicators of the current network. Sometimes, it changes from one room to another!
Sometimes LTE, other times 4G and still other times ATT. Is the ATT = 3G? I figure 4G is the HSPA+.
My sim is an LTE sim and my apn is "phone."

Also, is there any way to specify a network, to save battery. I am thinking that when I'm not on LTE, my phone is always looking for it, hence running down the battery. Just a thought. I understand t-mo users can select a lower network.

ATT blocks the blackberry from us selecting a network. I wish there was a way. In regards to your network, you probably have bad reception and causes you to lose signal and hence the network changes, if you can try to use wifi at home

I think what I may do is make up some NFC tags to swap out the various networks/Bluetooth/wifi to when and where I need them. In my car to add BT and drop wifi; in my house to do the reverse. Though I must say, my battery life is about the same as my iPhone4s right now- after 2 weeks of the phone hang of the new OS. .1295/1296
