When Will You See 4G In Your Neighborhood?

We've already begun field testing our 4G LTE network domestically in select markets. Because 4G LTE is global, we've also worked with key network operators including Vodafone and China Mobile to coordinate field trials outside the U.S.

As for the rest of the Network, we'll keep you posted on when 4G LTE will hit your neck of the woods.

That info has been there awhile, along with an LTE Developer's area.

Up to 60Mbps, with 30Mbps more realistic at rollout. Over twice the available bandwidth of AT&T & better coverage than anyone.

Twins -- two things. One ... any idea when we'll first be told of a live market? I thought it was going to be before the end of 2009, but was that just turning it on for testing in Boston/Seattle?

Two ... when you say twice the available bandwidth of AT&T, is that in reference to their current HSPA network or in reference to AT&T's LTE network when they get around to launching it?

Twins -- two things. One ... any idea when we'll first be told of a live market? I thought it was going to be before the end of 2009, but was that just turning it on for testing in Boston/Seattle?

In most areas, it is ready now - in typical VZW xonservative fashion, they are making sure all is up to snuff & working together.

And they need devices to roll on it.

LTE to LTE. The ultimate bandwidth capability of the AT&T licenses is about half that of VZW.
But remember that AT&T's HSPA network is simply a stopgap. They had contracts & such signed & ready to roll with HSPA before they decided HSPA couldn't compete with LTE. In real-world operation, HSPA isn't anything to write home about, comparing closely with a good CDMA or GSM signal. It will be yet another technology that AT&T never brings to maturity.

Um, they already exist - VZW Media Store even carries some - just not for CrapBerry.

There's at least one WinMo one out there.

But realistically, MMOs don't use a lot of bandwidth. I used maybe 10 megs of data in 10 hours of EQ2 once. (Yeah, I'm a nerd.)

Ten hours!? That's nothin. I remember pullin 24 hours at a time on eq1/wow/aion . I remember tethering for wow when my internet went down. Life saver, I had a BWL raid that night .
