When a Verizon PRIV passes through the FCC, you can surely count on a release date. Until that happens, there is no date.
1) FCC
2) Announcement of release date by VZW
3) Availability

But it could already have passed the FCC, just not publicly yet. I think Verizon can set a date when the FCC can release the documents publicly.
Well, I think BlackBerry can, but it's not like the phone is a secret, so I doubt this will be the case. The only reason why they may possibly want to do this, is so att can retain a proper "first exclusive" perk. (meaning if you really want the phone NOW you'd switch)

I'm thinking that if they were not going to have it until 2016, Chen would not have said that AT&T has an exclusive for MOST OF THIS CALENDAR YEAR... the keyword of course being "most". When I heard him say that, I figured it has to be sometime in December ... I hope rumors of the 8th prove to be true?
As for FCC silence, that might have been part of the deal with AT&T.

All is a play on words, I am not holding my breath anymore for a pre2016 release

Hearing midnight, fingers crossed folks

Don't play with my emotions. :|

Like I was saying in the other Verizon Priv forum...I wouldn't put it passed Verizon releasing a phone with no warning but it's highly doubtful. I hope it does but what is your source on this btw 2ys4u?

Can you comment on the position held by your source?

Better info than I hv right now, something did happen on the 8th but upper level kept it real quiet...I tried folks ^

Did they retweet their "coming soon" tweet? I think they should do that at least once a month, keep the buzz going like they will do something...

What happened?
I do not entirely blame Verizon, BlackBerry Leadership seems to me are rather short sighted and are as much to blame. And for a while I thought Chen would be the Steve Jobs for BB.
What BlackBerry should be focusing on is getting HW in people's hands not making a few extra $$ by exclusive agreements.

there's supposed to be a 90 day exclusive for AT&T from the launch of the priv. so i am projecting a February launch for the other carriers, Verizon, more like mid February or March. by then the priv will be a antiquated.
Posted via CB10
It won't be 90 days; Chen said the exclusive is for most of the calendar year.
Ya, but he also said "it runs the Google". I kid I kid.
Posted via CB10
Did he specify which year lol?

Lol!

I would caution the use of the term "exclusive agreement" in this manner as that would suggest that it was something BlackBerry pursued or looked for. I think, based on Bla1ze's cryptic scolding of Verizon during one of the Berry Flow podcasts, that perhaps the "exclusive" agreement with AT&T was a consequence of BlackBerry's failure to secure commitments from the other big networks. Which, still falls on BlackBerry's leadership to sell the product properly, but to suggest that Chen wanted an exclusive agreement I think is a narrow-sighted view of the situation.
The only smartphone maker (now) that would benefit from exclusivity is Apple and that's only because they're magical.

Microsoft made it sound like their AT&T exclusive was by design, but of course marketing can spin things any way they want.
Ya and even BB's Chen made at&ts exclusive time with the Priv seem like it was because at&t became "very excited about the phone".
Anyhow, we wait.
