Noticed today that Verizon has lowered the on-contract price of the Z30 from $199.99 to $99.99, while the Q10 has dropped from $199.99 to $49.99. The Z10 has been available for no money down for many months now.

Ironically, the Q10 is now cheaper than the Bold 9930.

Current off-contract pricing on all four models (through Verizon directly):

    Bold 9930: $499.99
    Z10: $299.99
    Q10: $399.99
    Z30: $549.99

Many of us have been saying for a while that the devices ought to come down in price. They are coming down in price. The carriers and BlackBerry will make less money on the sales, but that makes it easier for us to recommend the devices. They're just more affordable.

The Z30 price drop was mentioned in the Z30 subforum, but haven't seen a discussion of Verizon lowering the price of BB10 devices in general.

Yep, just like there was a great sale (albeit at a loss for BlackBerry) when Z10s were available from Shop BlackBerry back in November/December, there should be a moderate uptick in BlackBerry sales through Verizon in the next few weeks. Nothing to turn heads but certainly significant enough to get more devices into people's hands.

I'm personally still waiting on Verizon to lower the off-contract price of the Z30 to at least $499 before I bite. I'm anticipating a price drop once the GSM-compatible device is finally released in the States, whenever that may be.

If pricing was the only issue, it is becoming less of one now. Of course if you want a BlackBerry you are most likely going to have to order it as even the corporate stores are showing signs of not stocking them. My daughter liked my Z10 and understood some of the limitations with the ecosystem, but for free she like it's capabilities better than the other devices in the "free" category. She went to our local corporate store, as none of the resellers even offer to order them and said she had to go to the corporate store to get a BlackBerry. And of course the sales guy really tried hard to talk her out of the Z10.... but she stuck to it. Unfortunately they didn't have one in stock, he told her that they are a special order item. But they shipped it to her the next business day.

As for the Bold 9930 being more expensive... there is still demand among their corporate accounts that have not switched to BES10 for these older BBOS devices. I imagine that barring a full official Google Play on BB10, BBOS will outsell BB10 for most of this year.

Noticed this a while ago and I will be purchasing a q10 off contract price.

I am going to save my upgrade for when the q30 comes about, if it ever does hehe.

When device sales remain low then prices go down, no one is going to sit on a large inventory and loose money.
Blackberry probably reduced the price to all carriers just to keep them on the shelf until this downturn with blackberry comes back up!
