Verizon and harassing phone calls/texts
I was getting harassed by a former friend since last week. She was calling me and I would send her calls to voicemail, but I would still have to hear that one second of yelling before I could delete and she was also sending me 50-70 nasty texts per day. When she started saying stuff about my kids is when I took action.
I called Verizon mainly to see if I could stop the texts from her and they asked me to try blocking her through vtext.com, but she doesn't have a Verizon phone so that didn't work. They said that I could block ALL texts. No WAY. I love to text my other friends and kids! They suggested that I change my phone number. I really didn't want to do that. So, they transferred me to a "data specialist." I think that's what they called her. She filed a "ticket" that will block her number from being able to call or text me. I did not know that this could be done (especially blocking her texts), but I am so relieved. She said it would take 3-5 business days to take effect and recommended that I file a police report to keep record of this. I filed it last night. The police called her and she has made no contact since.
I was really happy with how Verizon handled this.
I just thought that this might be useful info for anyone who has Verizon and ends up being harassed because it is so stressful.
