update PRL after Jan. 1?

Has anyone been able to update their PRL after January 1? My dad activated a new pearl which had an old PRL version and sprint customer service said that they can no longer update the PRL on blackberries. Also when I try to update the PRL on my Tour I get an error saying that your preferred network list could not be updated, try again later. The Sprint customer service rep did also mention that the latest version is 60658. Please let me know if anybody is able to get this latest version. Thanks.

I got a new 8530 last night and it allows you to update the prl on the device (without contacting customer service)
It did it just fine, and I have version 60658

I just tried the PRL update again and it worked. I now have 60658. It must have just been an error on the network when I tried a few hours ago. Now for some reason the sprint representive is saying they can no longer update the PRL for blackberries like the pearl which do not have that option built into the OS.

Mine is updating. But no longer getting the "Registered with Network" message after reboots?

From what I understand on PRL's, it depends on where you are located. If Sprint doesn't actually own the towers, but rents off inTelos or someone, then the PRL update will do you no good (from a tech at the local store.) Not sure...

how did you do that? I just got an 8530 with sprint. I also have an 8830 on sprint. is that model too old to manually update?

60659 is out.
