    No it's not. This is explain the the 8830 unlocking thread that is stickied at the top. In short though, the GSM side of the phone can only be unlocked for use with carriers that are NOT in North America.

    You could unlock the phone but will not be able to use with ATT & T-mo.

    8830 use CDMA technology that is not compatible w/ GSM tecnology ( used by AT&T and T-mo).
