Your SIM number is printed on the card or can be found under Settings > About > SIM Card > ICCID

Just call t-mobile. They will email you an unlock code if it's mostly paid off. I still owe on mine and they unlocked it for me 4 months ago.

Is this a branded t-mo phone? If not, and you have never been with the carrier, don't think they are just going to send you a code. There are plenty of sites online where you can pay to have your phone unlocked.

Of course tmob had a terrible time unlocking mine. They sent me two wrong codes.

I suggest never entering a code more than once. Twice is not the charm. The code is either right or it isn't. Enter it slowly and carefully.
