I have a boostberry 8350i with a I.T. lock on it. Have tried many times to remove it. But have givin up. Question is. If i get an unlocked blackberry. would it have to have come from a sprint or nextel provider for the push to talk feature to work?

A couple of weeks ago I called T-Mobile requesting an unlock code and received it via email less than 24 hours later. Unlocking was very easy to do. Once it was done I took my wifes SIM card from her AT&T phone and it worked.

Anyone ever use a SIM adapter? If so do they work OK?

One thing that did happen to me after I took my wifes SIM card out and put mine back in. I had to wipe the device in order to use Mobile Backup. I'm not sure if this is a BB thing or T-Mobile.

Also, what kind of costs are there is you travel to another part of the US or around the world and want a SIM card to use on a temporary basis?

Also figure in that on many foreign sim/networks, you may not be able to get data. Thus you might need to switch back to your SIM to get data.

For some folks, it might be logistically easier to get a prorated week/two/whatever while you are away on your provider's global plan which would include phone and data.

That being said, I too am glad I won an unlock code here. If nothing else, it perhaps gives me some resale value on my Tour.
