So I have an unlocked 8900 from T-Mobile and have been using it on AT&T for about a week with no problems. And suddenly I get no service. I tried my sim card in my unlocked curve 8320(T-Mobile branded if that helps) and it works with no problems. I put another AT&T sim card into the 8900 and still get no service.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Also, I don't have a data plan yet.

Maybe it is locked again? Did you get the code? Did you upgrade your OS?

How do you know if it's locked again? I got the code from T-mobile to unlock it. And I upgraded my OS to .133 a day after I got "No Service" to see if the OS was the problem.

Try to enter the code again and set what happens.

Went to the sim card option, it says security disabled on all of them. Tried typing in MEPD nothing showed up, MEP2 and nothing showed up again.

Also shows my number at the bottom.

Do you have a medianet plan or no data at all?

Battery pull? Turn mobile network off, then turn it back in "Manage Connections?"

Tried those, I just inserted a t-mobile sim, it couldn't find a network either. Until I enabled wi-fi it connected with uma, not UMA. So would that mean it's a hardware issue?

That's not good. I was going to suggest another at&t sim card, but with the addition to t-mobile giving you the same concerns, I'm not sure.

Yeah, that's 2 AT&T cards and 2 T-Mobile cards. I'm going to have to go get it exchanged tomorrow, if they have any in stock.

    Thanks for the help.

Does it say SOS in the signal area? That means its locked again. Otherwise, I would suggest get a new sim card under the same number or try the unlock code again.

SOS doesn't show up either. It shows the little signal sign thingy that's usually before the bars and nothing else.

Have you tried throwing it at the wall? Smashing it against a rock? Maybe that will knock the radio back in place?

Just kidding.. it sounds like it is defective. Try Manage Connections->Mobile Network Options->Hit BB Button->Diagnostic Test->BB Button again "Run" and tell us what you see.

I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but I have heard from someone that is using an 8900 on AT&T, that he had to use an old sim card that was not 3g. He said that the AT&T 3g sim card was what was not allowing him to get service. Like i said, i dont know if this is true or not, this is just what i heard.

Got it replaced, even tmobile sims weren't working in it. I'm currently using an ATT 3g sim in it with no problems. Must have been hardware issues with that phone.

i got the same problem with my BB 8830 with telus. After I flashed it to unlock the device, i put my Fido sim card to try, it gives me no service. and im 100% sure the phone is unlocked! I also tried with a working Rogers sim card, it didnt work as well. I tried switching radio on and off, manual search network...etc. still not solved...

    can anyone help please?

is the phone really defective? but i worked fine before i flash it..

Try sticking your AT&T sim card back in and going to the host routing table which is in

Settings>Options> Advanced Options> Host Routing Table and hit menu and hit register now. I am just taking another shot at a fix I don't expect it to fix it though but you can try.

Also make sure to check the mobile data connections to see if Data Services are On and the mobile network pulls up also the network mode etc.
