If it's a T-Mobile unit it's an 8320 and yes it needs to be unlocked to be used on at&t.

You simply need an unlock code. They are device not carrier dependent.
In other words, there is no AT&T or T-Mobile code. The code is based on
the phones IMEI.

you need the unlock code for whatever carrier was branded to. you can try contacting both companies to see if they would give you an unlock code for it or check the unlocking forum and pay for an unlock code to be emailed to you.

Each IMEI has a unique unlock code. You can try to call T-Mobile or AT&T and see if they will give you the unlock code for free. If not, you can buy the unlock code from any 3rd party unlocker like ourselves and you would need to purchase the T-Mobile Blackberry Unlocking service.
