I have a z10 that still works well so I have no intention of updating my device, but I do want to switch carriers. I'm locked into Telus right now. Does anyone know a reliable place I can purchase an unlock code?

Telus will also unlock it for $35.

I had my Z10 unlocked a couple of years ago and I am with Telus. I think I paid around $30 to have mine unlocked by someone on the net so $35 by Telus is a good deal at one time is was $50.
Thanks everyone, I ordered from BlackBerrycodesource. Only 20 bucks and they have a money-back guarantee. Just waiting on the code now!

Hey all, do any of you know how to see if I'm locked to my carrier now? I posted a thread in AT&T section but since you're discussing unlocking I thought someone might know how to tell BEFORE I get a SIM for my trip up there! ;-)

There are many threads around here. This is a recent one:

This is specifically for the Q10 but it shouldn't be much different across the board for BlackBerry10 devices.

I have a locked brand new z10. But I do not know which provider it is locked to. It's not Rogers or Bell. How do I find that out? Thx.

I tried putting a T-Mobile SIM into my Q10 and even though I bought it from Amazon more than 24 months ago AT&T locked me back AND said I entered into a contract 16 months after using it with other SIM card! Somehow my calling them just to give new IMEI after a warranty replacement became a new contract!!
Called them and was told I've got to pay $185 ETF to get the cell I bought on my own wallet to work. About ready to get seriously ticked off again just from writing this. I'd love to "vote with my feet" and switch carriers but the others have even poorer coverage where I live. AT&T obviously knows that since the customer "service" is a joke.

Tell you what: dispute it. Get the information from the agent, who signed you up in the first place without your consent. Then take appropriate action. That's fraud. Also once a device is unlocked, IT CANNOT be "re-locked". That's just nonsense.

I advise against using this company. www.BlackBerryCodeSource.com
They do not reply to emails and do not honor their highly advertised guarantee.

I recognize this is an old thread, but I thought I would mention that I have bought about a dozen unlock codes on ebay without ever getting burned. Seller refunded the purchase price a couple of times when the code could not be located. It may be cheaper to go through an unlocker's own website, but I like the protection of ebay. No seller wants to risk a bad rating over a few dollars.
