I don't think this is based on the device, but rather on the type of account you have with T-Mobile, and on which streaming services you use, as not all of them are included, for example Google Play Music is not included. My grandfathered plan also is not included, as you need to be on their new "simple" plans. So I would say yes it would work as long as you use one of the supported music services and as long as you have a "simple" plan.
