Recently Sprint's CapEx have tailed way, way off, and they ended up in a wimax JV with Clearwire to keep cash burn somewhat manageable.

Wow you will not even read a map, there is 26 carriers of wimax. 26 carriers.


But ignoring that.

Most of the major internet providers are wimax or example comcast and att will be using wimax. Att will also use lte for combined phone and internet.

But if you look past the major internet providers, comcast, time Warner, qwest, you will have to deal with the pocket books of intel, google, cisco, fitusu, and even samsung.

Ignoring all that. You still have the open nature of the system which mean government deployment, like in S. Korea for smart grid use.

LTE will have the 3 major cell phone companyes.

Wimax has the 1 major cell phone, about 30 major internet providers, and about 150 so tech companies.

Now lets review.
comcast 5 billion in profit per term.
google 3 billion profit per term
intel 9 billion profit per term
cisco 5 billion profit per term
time warner 2 billion profit per term.
sprint 3 billion profit per term.

I do not think you need to worry about wimax not being used or deployed in the united states.
