at&t worker here, and as far as the northern CA/Reno market is concerned, no plans for a price change anytime soon, but different markets in different parts of the country "may" have different deals.

i may end up shelling out the dough for the 9700 now that i won all those apps but here's a question... if I can't find a deal even remotely close to something like that is there a way to split up the price on my bills like tmo does instead of shelling it out all at once?

I think the $350 deal was more of a holiday deal. That is the only time Ive seen a berry like that sell for that price

Yep. But that was probably with new service. I justed checked my local store and was quoted 449.99 for an out the door price. I have no upgrades available.

I just logged into the AT&T site, and it shows the 9700 as $349.99 after a $100 promo rebate. Several phones have this offer available.

we need the $350 price back, no rebates none of that bs!

The $450 price still stands. the $100 mail in is only good on a new contract, not off full price.

It showed up when I clicked on "upgrade options" and I'm not even eligible.

That $100 mail in rebate doesn't count..you have to sign the phone upto a data package and add a line!

nope your correct, i went to the AT&T store and confirmed, that mail in rebate is only if you activated the phone & paid for a data plan. so again its worthless

I don't know why there's so much confusion... Anyway, I just re-logged into the site. I chose upgrade phone, and the 9700 is $449 minus the $100 mail-in rebate, coming to $349. In big letters above this, it says "NO COMMITMENT PRICE" ....

^^^This is correct. You are entitled to the MIR even if you purchase the device full price. As long as your account has the correct features.

Its not correct, the mail-in may be there but read the terms of the mail-in. Its only on ACTIVATIONS. Just because its there and you can mail it in doesnt mean theyll honor it and then youre stuck paying $450.

The list of full price phones:

    The checkout window

NO $100 rebate. It doesnt work like that. Its requires ACTIVATION, meaning new customer or new line. Call ATT and find out for yourself.

If they wanted the rebate to apply to the full price itd be there, yet its only there if you go on setting up a new line. Its there to bring the 299 price down to 199, not the full price.

Ok well thats not normal full price for $449.99. You must be on some special plan or discount to get that, but thats not what everyone can get it for.

If you go to ATT's site without signing in, youll see exactly what I posted. Anyone else here will verify the same.

I'm on no special plan, no special anything. Nor am I eligible for an upgrade yet. Just an FYI.
