Hey, just rooted my Hero, just want to make sure all my settings are correct, what is the SMS Service Center number?

i can't send or receive sms's

Just dial 611...i don't think there is a specific department that strictly handles SMS

no i meant i need the number for the service.. not to talk to someone..

its like a server but it's a phone number


theres a number in your sms settings, only thing is, i don't know if its the same number for CDMA and HSPA

Ooo thats a good point. Well on my CDMA BB its just my cell number...one would hope it would be the same across the board...have you tried your own cell number?

just tried it, didnt work.. the number i get when i reboot my phone is +16475800172

Im out of ideas, i think im gonna call Telus and ask them to push the config on my phone, hope it works

Nevermind, turns out, it a network related issue with the SIM cards, i called Telus again and this time, the problem was discovered and is being worked on.. i don't know how far the outage goes out but on the new HSPA network you cant receive SMSs and voicemails around Montreal
