I'm going to be making a move to Southern California in the next month, it's either going to be in LA or Orange County, depending on what job I decide to take and I was wondering which of these two providers had better service in those areas. Fewest dropped calls, quality of sound, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My number is NJ based, but moving to So Cal has been a smooth transition. The clarity with verizon is unbelievable. It's like I'm using a landline all the time. Best bet though is probably go with what most of your friends have so when you call them you don't use up all your minutes...

I live in So Cal and you'll find equal numbers of ATT and VZW users because both are strong. Of course, each has their limitations depending on the specific city.

I'm personally on VZW because where we live and where my husband works, VZW gets a bit of a stronger signal, so I can get a hold of him easier.
