My previous device was the Z10, worked on AT&T LTE with no problems. Have had my AT&T Passport about 3-4 weeks now and it's been on LTE once for a few hours. Have called AT&T several times, get the same answer, that my SIM is provisioned properly and "Should be" on LTE, no reported problems in the area. Place a Z10 and Passport side by side and the Z10 is on LTE, Passport never goes to LTE. Mobile Network settings show AT&T LTE as the available network, icon in upper right corner never says LTE.

Did I miss something? Anyone else in an AT&T LTE area seeing this?

Yes, went through both of those threads and they offer nothing new that I haven't already tried. My signal is strong, full bars almost always , not dropping calls (yet)....just not getting LTE.

No, trying not to load/install anything that is not an official AT&T release. rely heavily on my device for work and have to be able to support other corporate users, so my device needs to be running what theirs is running. That may be the last resort however. Just trying to sort it out before others start ordering their Passports. Thanks.

No local AT&T stores have it in stock, only the Classic. They will have to order one.

That URL generated a Page not found message. Correct URL: https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=bMyPzkkb

MY SIM came already installed from AT&T with the device and according to that info is an LTE capable SIM.

    Possible troubleshooting routes:

Is the sim you are using in Z10 the same as the one you are using in Passport? If yes, you can rule out sim. If no, try to swap them and observe.

The Passport could be wrong variant, i.e it doesn't support LTE band in your location.

    Provisioning of LTE sometimes fails,
Call ATT and try to log ticket for the issue. But if you managed to get passport at least once on LTE this is probably not the case.
Sometimes SIM swap helps solving provisioning issues.

It could be that your Passport is defective, return it and ask for replacement.

On my Z30 since 10.3.1 update I have ton of problems connecting to 4G. Sometimes device turns out 4G by itself, and I have to re-enable it manually. I logged the bug through my operator.

The dirty secret of the industry is that certain Snapdragon variants are having issues with LTE sims, leaving device in unconnected state, but I believe that only Lumias 820/920 and some Galaxy Note models are affected. The symptoms you mentioned are different however.

@1Criz... what do you mean his Passport could be the wrong variant and not support the right bands?

I'm have an international Passport, but am getting ready to buy an AT&T one for another line on my account. Is this something I need to worry about? Why would AT&T have their own model built but not have supported radios? ...or was this just a brain fart?

No problem. Only difference is a locked phoned until to you pay it in full! Also BlackBerry Passport from AT&T comes with Qi wireless charging

You might want to edit your quote as your post has absolutely nothing to do with my question.

Which leads back to my original question brought about by this quote...

The Passport could be wrong variant, i.e it doesn't support LTE band in your location.
...and now your post, too, mad_mdx.

Are the two of you saying that the AT&T Passport doesn't have the right radios to support AT&T bands?

The only reason I'm buying the AT&T version is because the user prefers rounded edges for the way they hold the device. But if the two of you are saying in response to the OP that his AT&T Passport might not support AT&T's bands... well, I really have no words for the stupidity of AT&T in that regard.

I thought that maybe 1Criz was just so caught up in troubleshooting that they tossed that out there forgetting it was the AT&T variant. I've done that... get so caught up in thinking of ideas that they all rattle out. So, I thought I'd clarify.

Also, I don't participate much in the forums because this place is rife with people that seemingly don't read farther back than the post above theirs... and they don't even seem to read it correctly, but to experience all three in one thread seems a bit unbelievable.

I didn't mean for this to hijack the entire topic, my apologies MLE724. I was just trying to verify that AT&T didn't actually get stuck with an exclusive device that doesn't support all of their bands. My instinct is, 'No, of course not. That's ridiculous,' but from the responses being posted...

Hi, apparently (from gsmarena) there are two variants of Passport in regards of LTE:
    1. LTE 850 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600
    (Bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8)
    *2. LTE 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600
    (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20)

I didn't found which one is AT&T one, though.

    Update...

Today was the 5th call to support in the past 21 days. Still no AT&T LTE. After 46 minutes and three different tiers of tech support, they are finally declaring the device defective and sending me a new one.

I'll be sure to let you know if the replacement will connect to LTE.

    Another update...

Got new Passport and SIM today. Performed device switch and had LTE service. Connected it to PC and BBLINK, said there was a software. Software updated (PassportSQW100-3/10.3.1.1955) and since, no LTE.

Pretty aggravated with both AT&T and BlackBerry right now.

Pretty strange indeed, got mine about 3 weeks ago and it's almost exclusively running on LTE!! I ran it with preloaded 1955 OS for about a week, but am currently running latest 2582 and better than ever. Hang it there, theres surely a logical explanation to your mystery.

Try a different radio version. I've had a lot of good luck with 2073.

The newest version 2583 has also been very good for me.

This actually points to OS bug. Very similar symptoms to what I had in regards with registration to 4G network, so try manually disable then re-enable 4G and observe results.
If you don't have patience anymore, do a factory reset and use pre-installed version enjoying your LTE.

Seeing LTE life about 50% of the time now. Although AT&T says there is no LTE work going on in the area, I suspect their might be. I haven't done anything else since my last post, don't have the time or desire to spend chasing it anymore. The device is awesome otherwise. Just have that feeling I am going to regret getting the AT&T version over time. Thanks for all the suggestions.
