Has anyone else noticed their AT&T device downloading web pages faster over the last few days? My data connection seems to be really fast all of a sudden. My web pages are coming in at lightning speeds. Is this happening to anyone else? Anyone know why?

Any improvement in AT&T's network would be a local thing and not something everyone would experience. It is quite possible that AT&T and done some upgrading to add additional bandwidth to your area.

    Lightning speeds? <vbg>

Not my neighborhood. I use WiFi more often than 3G but no noticeable change when 3G is turned on and in use. We had a fast network to begin with.

NYC here. No difference. Most likely they upgraded in your area. Additional towers possibly?

Without question I've seen a big improvement in the last couple days in S. Fla

I can tell when it comes to music loading in Pandora, streaming videos on youtube

There is a difference...who knows...next week may be worse again but I have noticed...

I'm just outside NYC and the 3G service is terrible. Not only is it terrible but it's no faster than EDGE. Whenever I can, I connect to wifi.

in a recent survey it was discovered that smartphones work just fine on EDGE
in another survey they discovered that most people who complain about how fast a webpage downloads on a smartphone dont really have things in perspective
in another recent survey it was announced that smartphones are not a replacement for your home PC or laptop and should be judged accordingly

I'm in Charlotte, which is one of the cities they were starting with and I can't tell much of a difference, so I don't know if they have finished up this area. It's suppose to be twice as fast, I think I would notice that.

Network-wide HSPA upgrade went into effect recently.

Expect speed boosts for the 9700, iPhone 3Gs, and a handful of other HSPA 7.1 devices.

I noticed a speed increase in data transfers, but not in 3G . For some strange reason It’s faster on 2G on my Bold. I thought maybe a fluke, but after a few days and comparing it to 3G. In 2G web pages are loading much better and faster than 3G ever was. Oh, This is in Albuquerque

    Right, it's 7.2, typo.

If you're on T-Mobile, you're stuck with 3.6Mbps, but this ain't the T-Mobile forum, no is it?
