hey so i am getting an unlocked at&t 9700 bold so it will work with rogers 3g. the thing is u need a 3040 sim card in order for 3g calls and text to work for the at&t bold 2 and i have a 4000 sim card. how do i deactivate my 4000 sim card without getting it blacklisted because if i report it lost most likely it will become blacklisted and not actvateable. just in case i need my 4000 sim card in the future how would i deactivate it so i would be able to activate it in the future with no problems, call them and say wut??

Once you transfer to a new sim, the old sim is dead and no way to 're-activate' it.

In essence, a sim card is a one time use item.

I used to work for rogers & fido.

I just did this with a sim myself.

Tell them straight, they don't give a ****. Call and say i want to activate a new sim. Tell them the new #, power off your phone and put in the sim and you're good to go.

if im correct i remember viewing a thread on hofo about the 3040sim and 4000sim.. the 4000sim was made for 3G so just use the 4000..

The problem lies is that some users with an unlocked at&t have issues with the 4000 sim and when they used a 3040 sim solved the problem.

3040 also works on 3G, 4000 just better
