Received a text from AT&T this morning saying I have received 1000 free roll-over minutes, and all I had to do was call their 800 number.

Had to listen to a short pitch for U-Verse, and was told I received the minutes because I am 'a fantastic customer' (I'm sure its because I pay $90/mo lol). 2 minutes later and 1000 roll-over minutes are applied to my account.

Awesome! Free minutes! Even though I already have 2500 rollover minutes on a 450min/mo plan, you never know when you may need them.

only problem is, that it expires after a year. how old is most of that 2500 minutes? it's prob going to expire several hundred per month, and that thousand is just replacing what you're loosing, at this point.

I know that they expire after 12 months. I've been with AT&T for 18 months. So a couple hundred expire every month, but i also gain a couple hundred again. So it stays the same.

We have been with ATT for many years. Rollover minutes accumulate and are lost every month. Not a big deal. With no thought of a need for extra minutes in the future I'd likely pass that ad push.

Now if those minutes were transferrable I'd be on in a second. Some people need those extra minutes.

I wish they would send me a text message like that! I haven't been with ATT that long and I could use some roll-over minutes in the "bank". I wouldn't mind listening to their propaganda in exchange for free minutes.

I rarely talk on the phone. Last month I had 250 roll over minutes. I only used 200 of my 450. Its ridiculous. I wish there was a cheaper plan.

There is a cheaper plan available in certain markets, but you have to ask for it, as it is not advertised. I am on the $29.99 nationwide plan that includes 200 anytime minutes, and 1000 N&W minutes. This plan works perfect for me, because I only use 180 minutes a month.

I give out rollover minutes like candy when I'm working. "Oh I'm sorry you had to wait so long Mr./Ms. Customer, let me give 1000 Rollover minutes for your patience." "Oh customer service had you on hold for 45 minutes? Here's 1000 rollover minutes because we took up too much of your time." and so on...
