I did an OTA update on my shopblackberry Z30, running:

Software Release 10.3.2.2876 + Radio 10.3.2.2814 (hybrid to have Wi-Fi Calling)

After the 1.6 GB download and install, the phone restarted to:

Software Release 10.3.3.1359, OS Version 10.3.3.2049, Radio 10.3.3.2050

Another Software Updates check revealed an Applications Update of 4 MB. Downloaded and installed.

Turning off mobile network showed no indication of Wi-Fi Calling with the little phone icon. Trying to place a call resulted in the phone asking to turn back on cellular network. Checking the Wi-Fi Calling app (which had been previously sideloaded via Sachesi) showed the old setting of Cellular Preferred and no options. I did a restart.

Wi-Fi Calling was back! The Wi-Fi Calling app gave the normal options.

    I placed a call. Working. I haven't tested txt'ing yet.

So if I run the OTA update will my T-Mo WIFI calling work or do I need to load a different radio file?

The Radio file that comes with the OTA works fine. No need to go hybrid.

I had this problem too, on the old 10.3.2.2876 + Radio 10.3.2.2814 hybrid. I was hoping it would have been fixed. For me, I would be able to send one txt message then the rest would hang.

Confirmed on my unlocked Classic! Thanks for this thread!

After doing the 4mb update I had not rebooted, so the toggle in the WiFi calling app was disabled. After rebooting, was able to open the app and turn it on.

Have yet to make a WiFi call to confirm but icon is showing.

So then is there anyway around this? I, unfortunately, have to have a phone that can send texts in 2016....

You can txt over mobile data, but Wi-Fi Calling mode txt doesn't work properly.

If you're on a Z10 or Q10, go to BlackBerryWorld and look for the T-Mobile "Wi-Fi Calling" app. On other BB10 devices, you'll need to sideload the app via Sachesi. The links to the .bar files are above. For instructions on how to use Sachesi, do a search.

On a Z30 and it appears to have been removed with the update.

I did an OTA update and the app was still there after the restart.

If you're not seeing the T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling app in BlackBerryWorld, it may be because you're using a Z30. I recall only being able to see it while using a Z10 or Q10 (devices that T-Mobile USA sold) and with mobile network ON. On my Z30, I had to originally sideload it with Sachesi.

A restart did the trick for me too. I have a z30 from shopblackberry and followed OP's steps. Once the restart finished, I could go into the wifi calling app, turn it on and then change the settings. I was able to successfully make a call while in wifi calling mode. Woot !!

Since the latest update, I find that the WiFi calling is hit or miss. Sometimes I get a box that says that the call failed. If I shut the WiFi calling off, then I can put a call through. Also texting doesn't always work with the WiFi calling on.

No need to side load the T-Mobile app, or at least probably not.

You won't find it searching BlackBerry World with an unbranded or non T-mobile BlackBerry, but you can get to it following the link at T-Mobile requirements for Wi-Fi Calling on BlackBerry 10 OS

Did you bother reading the thread? While containing general Wi-Fi Calling info, the link you posted is for 10.1.X.

Yes I did. You evidently did not understand. I'm happy to explain more clearly.

Yes, that is an old KB article. However, that link to the T-Mobile app in the KB article will open BlackBerry World to the app. Moreover, you probably will be able to install the app from there. At least it worked for me on PassportSQW100-4/10.3.3.2049 and it has also worked for some others. If you just open BlackBerry World and search and you don't have a T-Mobile device then you won't find the app. Navigating to the KB article and clicking on that link with your BlackBerry Browser is a way to get the app from BlackBerry World and not have to side load it.

Added, another user I interacted with on another forum was able to find the T-Mobile app by searching, but she got the message from BlackBerry World that the app is not compatible with her device (I recall a Z3) and she was thus unable to install it. However, when she used the link to the app in the KB article she did not get the message and she was able to install the app.

My point is it is worth a try. Based on my experience I believe it will work. It avoids having to find the app and sideload if that is important to anyone.

Admittedly, I believe WiFi calling was already working for me with the last huge update, but I'll do some testing before and after.

I put the wifi calling "app" (on/off switch) on my phone (a shop Blackberry Classic which would not directly load) by going on BBerry World and scanning with smart tag. The next time I went on BBerry World it was listed under "recently viewed" and it then installed. FWIW.
