lmao........my issues are 99% of the time NOT with the rep.....its with pee poor policy......everyone should have realized that the reps have more damn common sense than the execs
I believe if you've followed my posts, you'd agree that I'm generally supportive of sales associates and stand up for them more often than not here. I also treat sales associates with the respect they deserve when I visit a T-Mobile store. I have great friendships with several associates who work in T-Mobile stores and I have never argued, raised my voice or had even the mildest disagreement with any of them.
With all of that said, I would never argue with an associate about the issue of how I buy my phones. The matter is quite simple. The sealed box is to be given to me sealed. Period. If that is a problem (never has been before), then I will escalate the matter to a manager. But no, no one is going to open my sealed box before I get it and that's all there is to it.
If this is not kosher, then invite me over for Christmas and I'll be happy to open all your Christmas presents and play with them before you get a chance to see them.
The boxes are sealed by the manufacturer at the factory for a reason. RIM did not intend to have store associates rummaging through the phones in their boxes otherwise they wouldn't have sealed them to begin with.
My phone. My Box. Sealed. Period. Pretty simple.
It's a phony balony excuse. As Artemis has pointed out (I think it was in this thread), you can buy these things on eBay if you wanted one badly enough.
T-Mobile is just not managing the sales process properly. In point of fact, I doubt that their senior execs even have any idea that reps open boxes before customers get their phones and steal things out of them. No one in their right mind would sanction that. Could you imagine a T-Mobile memo instructing sales associates to break the seals on all new phones to take things out of the boxes? What would happen to inventory control and theft avoidance? It may be a widespread practice but I hardly think it's a sanctioned one by top management.
I agree entirely. You've never seemed anything but respectful.
The majority of members here, much like the majority of customers I encounter, are polite and understanding. I agree wholeheartedly with the point you are making about open boxes and everything associated. The unfortunate fact though, is that there are groups of people who will harass a sales rep over something the sales rep cannot control. After years of working with said people, I no longer allow them to do so to me or any of my coworkers. However, there will be newer reps who are afraid of offending them and will take the abuse. In my opinion, this is BS. As a result, I make it a point to explain this on the forum, in hopes of reducing the number of people who would do such a thing?
Does it work? Who knows. I'll never be able to change the general population's views, but hopefully potential **** will read what I write and think things through before losing their temper on an unrelated employee.
Those jerks don't get far with me, because I don't let them. Some people are nicer than me though, and they don't deserve to be berated.
I get frustrated right along with you guys on many of the things you bring up here, and this is no exception.
My friend, if haggling over SIM cards is all we have to worry about with T-Mobile, we're in great shape.
I love T-Mobile. They're a fantastic company and have always treated me fairly and properly. They're not perfect and occasionally make minor errors but then who doesn't? All in all, if you compare T-Mobile to the competition, they are heads and shoulders above the rest.
I really can't imagine using anyone else. TMo is the best as far as I'm concerned.
Sorry I've been away. All of this is very fascinating. The original question was, was this considered an upgrade but now it seems like the sim was just taken out and never offered. I feel stolen from... Should I call the store or call customer service. This all started because this is the first time I ever received horrible service at a retail store. And yes, the sim card issue was at first the least of my worries.
