So I emailed Rogers- my 9000's trackball is a piece of ****. Constantly jamming. I told them that in my email and inquired about what would be involved in upgrading to the 9700. We'll see how it goes..

..may have better luck in talking with a Support or Customer Service CSR directly - especially if you can show a history of taking the device in for repairs.

    Just a thought.

I agree, you'll get a lot more done if you talk to someone over the phone. Email could take a while.

I wouldn't be very optimistic though. The policy is 24 months for an upgrade.

    Good luck.

yea email is probably not the best option. you need to be aggressive with them... and call and tell them what you want... not wait to see what they'll do for you... b/c you'll be waiting for a long *** time...

Well I went to a store the other day. They said there is a corporate code on my account which is BS because I had that taken off last Decemeber when I got my phone. The rep said it would be 199, plus 35 plus the early hardware fee of 130. I called retentions, told them the only reason I'm upgrading is because my 9000 doesn't scroll anymore and is unusable. They waved the early hardware upgrade fee.

So without too much ******** I walked out of the store with a 9700 in my hand- so far I love it! I wish it was the same physical size as the 9000 though.

Gosh, it would be really nice if the various departments within Rogers Wireless (Stores, Consumer CSRs - phone, Corporate CSRs - phone and Retentions) all worked together, wouldn't it?

Still, if Head Office hasn't a clue (and trust me, they don't), why should the Plebes?

Good for you for staying put in the Store and working it thru to a satisfactory conclusion!
That will, of course, mean a mountain of paperwork and few nasty memos inter-Rogers, but hey, occasionally they need to remember their subscribers...
