They will not give him a new device that easily.
Past the one month (14 days in canada) they are jerks about that.

But the trick is to get the refurb and then immediately call and tell them it's also defective. They will send a brand new one.

DO NOT TRUST the refurbished device. It's ridiculously inconsistent as far as the work that has been done to it.

Went to a Rogers' shop and they told me it is ok and the screen is functional, and assumed it caused because I probably dropped it to the ground.

I had similar issues with another provider and it's not Rogers who decides what happened to your phone it's BlackBerry who access it. Find a corporate store and take it in and tell them you want to send it to blackberry for repair ,as Rogers doesn't validate warranties BlackBerry does and yes you have a 1 year warranty with BlackBerry but unfortunately it has to be sent in by Rogers. And yes they may fix it but most likely you will get a refurbished one. Rogers is just the middleman and they don't use their stock to replace your defective phone it will be blackberry stock.

Don't waste any more time going into a store. Those min wage kids have no idea what customer service is, nor how to deal with you. You'd be cutting into their FB and snapchat time.

Call Rogers, and tell them you have a defective device and you need it taken care of.

They will have instructions for you, or will ship a temp device with a return box.

FWIW, best experience with Rogers customer support for these types of things is through the phone and asking for a supervisor.

Finally it gave a refurbished unlocked BlackBerry. One stupid salesman dropped my replaced one when took from the drawer in the shop, there is dent on the frame but said nothing to me.
