    Hey guys,

So long story short. My BBerry decided to go through the wash cycle.
Now I need a new phone. My question is, if I got a Rogers BBerry, and it
was unlocked, could I use it with a telus SIM card?

Depends which BlackBerry. Only 3G ones will work on Telus, since the new Telus network is not backwards compatible with 2G or EDGE phones.

It will work only with the Bold 9000 or 9700, but NOT the 8100 series, 8300 series, 8900, or 8520.

The one that I'm going to get from a friend is the BlackBerry Javelin. That one should work as well. Correct?

Regardless of the fact that the phone is unlocked?

Correct. That's because the 8900 (Javelin) is an EDGE device. It is not capable of connecting to the 3G network, meaning it won't work on the Telus or Bell HSPA network. You'd need a BlackBerry Bold 9000 or 9700.
